Our Remembrance Day Activities
Remembrance Day is the public’s opportunity to remember and to honour the military sacrifice during war, conflict and peace, attracting thousands to ceremonies in cities large and small across the country. It remains a day to honour the fallen, but traditional services also witnessed occasional calls to remember the horror of war and to embrace peace. Remembrance Day ceremonies are usually held at community cenotaphs and war memorials, or other public places. Two minutes of silence, the playing of the Last Post, the recitation of In Flanders Fields, the laying of wreaths, and the wearing of poppies quickly became associated with the ceremony. The 700 Wing RCAFA reflects on our past ceremonies in remembering our fallen comrades.
